Membership of WineGB West (until 2017 the South West Vineyards Association) is open to all those interested in growing vines for wine making in the West of England.
Our area includes Scilly, the Channel Islands, Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Bristol (the old Avon area), Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Shropshire. We do also welcome members from Monmouthshire, who usually also belong to the Welsh Vineyards Association.
The vast majority of the commercial vineyards in our region are members, although our membership also includes some who grow vines simply for their own satisfaction. And some members are not growers at all, and can for example be wineries making wine from bought-in English-grown grapes or under contract for small growers; have another commercial interest in vine growing or English wines, perhaps as suppliers or consultants; or wine journalists or bloggers.
Members of WineGB West are automatically members of our parent organisation, WineGB, who, since January 2018, are handle membership subscriptions centrally and pass regional funds back to us.
Subscriptions are payable to WineGB from 1st January each year. Subscriptions for the region are additional to those for WineGB (albeit much lower) and are decided annually at the WineGB West AGM.
